So we've had Odin for about a year now. When we got him, he was sick, and we got a free trip to the vet if we took him in within 2 weeks of adopting him. Well, it must be that time of year again, because he's sick again. He started sneezing yesterday, quite a bit. I knew it was time to take him into the vet soon, anyway, so this was probably the best time to do so.
I made an appointment this morning, and we were able to take him in this evening after work. Took him in, and met the vet tech and the veterinarian. They were both very nice ladies, and the vet tech even had a dog named Odin. He got his temperature taken, which he hated, and struggled for so long that we gave up. He had a little bit of a fever, and if we'd been able to get a full reading, it probably would have been higher.
Teeth and gums are healthy, weight is good, but probably has a virus. He got some medication for the virus, to be taken twice a day, orally. We tried it tonight - the first dose got mostly all over me, and the second was successful, after I got him wrapped up in a towel and a firm grip on him. He started coughing, but I think it just went down the wrong tube when he swallowed. He'll get used to it! Just like I say about everything that he hates. *smile*
Aaron and I bought some new games - as we get cabin fever in the winter time - less on television to keep me occupied, and Aaron's getting burned out on World of Warcraft, plus he can't spend a lot of time on the computer because of his back.
Speaking of which, he had his doctor's appointment, got some medications, and we'll see how that goes. Might have to do physical therapy, but hopefully it won't get that far. He seems to be doing much better today, after he took his pills. He doesn't shuffle around like an old man and moan out in pain every 10 minutes. It's a nice change.
That's about it for now. Adios!
